[What is FUJI TEXTILE WEEK]
Fujiyoshida City's textile industry scene has undergone various changes over the past 10 years. There has been an increased focus on regional revitalization, projects have been launched to revitalize industry, and people such as creators have begun to visit Fujiyoshida City for purposes other than tourism. Therefore, Fujiyoshida City and a variety of people have started a project to envision a new future by engaging with industry.
Set in vacant stores, warehouses, former banks, etc. around the central city area at the foot of Mt. Fuji, 16 weaving shops will exhibit weaving machines and 10 artists, including Shinji Ohmaki, Hiromi Guni, and Yoshiya Nishio, will be exhibiting. An art exhibition will be held by. Furthermore, during the exhibition period, there will be exchange programs such as talk shows with artists and weavers, and live performances.
